OwnCloud is software that allows its users to create online storage which is similar to DropBox and Google Drive. Unlike the others, ownCloud is a free and open-source provider that allows anyone to install and operate it on a private server. There are no limits on storage space or the amount of clients that can be connected to it; however, there is a disk capacity or account quota. You are able to sync your files, data, videos, etc. onto multiple platforms within a secure storage on the cloud and access it from any device, worldwide. OwnCloud gives you the ability to share your files with friends and co-workers, like other public cloud drive companies and can be integrated with other storage providers.
